Welcome to Baxter Book House!

My Mama
Moves Different

The Story starts here!

Hi, I’m Meaghan Baxter, a children’s book author, mom of two, and proud Upstate New Yorker.

I never dreamed of becoming an author, it just happened. One moment I was juggling mom life, and the next I found myself writing a story that mattered more than I ever imagined.

These days, I spend my time chasing my kids (one boy and one girl), creating stories, podcasting with my sister, and going on adventures with my dad. My husband Sean is my biggest cheerleader, always rooting for me. I find joy in long walks, cozy backyard fires, and soaking in time with the people I love most.

What readers say

Rating: 5 out of 5.

It’s too early to be asking this question. It’s great! So let the book do the talking lol.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

This book is a testament to love and resilience. Meaghan poured her heart into it, channeling the love she received from her mother, Michelle, who raised her family while bravely fighting MS for over 30 years. After losing Michelle in 2024, watching Meaghan turn her heartbreak into this beautiful story of joy has been nothing short of awe-inspiring.

This is for every parent navigating adversity, and for every child who needs to hear a story of strength and love.

This book brings to life not just the struggles of a life with a mom in a wheelchair who is “different” but the bond a mother has with her children. We are all different and Meaghan has brought that important love to the for front. She shows that while we may be different, love is the same.
